Stent fell out...AMEN!!!

Big news!!! Finally...Lukey's little stent fell out tonight. It's been the means by which his bladder has emptied since his urologic surgery last Monday (basically it kept his little man part hole open while the swelling subsided).

Surely this little device had to be uncomfortable. It's about 5 inches long. Luke was walking kind of strange tonight and kept pulling at his diaper. Little did we know the stent was working it's way out, just like the Dr. said in 7-10 days post-op.

Luke is feeling great. I weaned him off the bladder relaxant, valium and vicodin last Thurs. It was making him quite a precocious toddler. Quite unmanageable, to put it frankly. Of course I've still been giving him his antibiotic as well as Motrin for discomfort. Taking him off all the other crazy drugs has made a world of difference. We have our sweet little boy back. He never smiled once while he was on that crazy stuff. Now, he's happy as a clam. His ears obviously feel better too because he's speaking more and doesn't have the snotty drainage nose he's had for months. It was so cute this morning. I said, "Lukey you want to take your vitamin?" (takes a Sesame Street multivitamin daily). He took it from me, put it in his mouth and said, "Thank You Momma!". It was just precious. Also, we just put him down for the night and we stood there and said our prayers with him. He knows how to put his hands together to pray and at the end tonight he said, "Amen". So adorable. The boy is just too cute for words. God I love that boy. What a blessing he is to us!
