VBS is OVER!!! Can I get a hallelujah???
Had a blast...glad it's over.....200 kids for 5 days in a row tends to wear a person out. Not to mention 5 different crafts and a craft lead teacher with the most abrasive personality. Kids were scared of her, other leaders were commenting on the "intensity" of her personality. Needless to say, she won't be doing crafts next year because a few of us had a talk with the VBS Director to guarantee that maybe the best job for her next year would be something where she had no contact with people. Maybe she can cut up apples for the snacks or something....
Nuff said, about that. We had 20 professions of faith, so that means we'll have 20 new residents in heaven because of this week. Yeah God.
I totally loved being with these kiddos, getting to act crazy, dress crazy, wear a sombrero, sing off key, mess up on the hand motions to the songs, get to encourage kids, play tricks on kids and just generally act like a teenager. What fun we had. Luke loved VBS. Stay tuned for the pictures of all of his various "art projects" he made this week.
Well...off to night night land. I'm pooped!

Spike....VBS update.....cute picture....Beau-N-Ernie....
Ok....I forgot to post this cute little card I made for Daddy for Father's Day. I got the idea on the internet so I can't claim it as my own. He really liked it.
Check out Heather & Heather at VBS today....We're quite decked out in "amigo-gear". Our cactus was handmade by one of the other craft workers. Cool huh!!! Fiesta Viva!!!
Check out Beau Bo. He was over for lunch today and decided he wanted to watch Ernie and Elmo close up so he just walked over and stood right under the t.v. I didn't have the heart to move him, he looked so cute.
Funny story....my friend Heather's son Hudson was talking about what he learned in VBS yesterday. He said very seriously, "I learned that Jesus' hair is too long and he needs a haircut!". Kids say the darndest things.......Speaking of hair. Check out the picture of this one kid we had in crafts today. I called him Spike....wonder why. Repeat 3 times after me: I don't get enough attn., I don't get enough attn., I don't get enough attn.
Later taters.

Precious words....
Okay, I have to tell you about something Luke did that was just precious yesterday. We were sitting here folding clothes (mom and I) and Luke was crawling all around the bed in the pile of clothes we were folding. We were trying to teach Luke to say, "I love Jesus". We've been working on this for a week or so now. So, I said to mom...."Grandee can you say, I?"....she said, "I"...."Can you say love?"....she said, "love"......"Can you say Jesus?"...she said, "Jesus". Then out of nowhere Luke said, "Amen!" It was the funniest thing. We laughed and laughed. He is putting together that when we pray and say the word Jesus, amen isn't too far behind.
He does well saying his nightly prayers and prayers before all meals. He folds his hands and prays along with us and to top it off he "AMENS". So cute. I am so proud that he's learning the importance of prayer at such a young age.
Then...tonight we were at buddies (Hud & Shep's) house. Hudson and his mommy were praying for a little boy that they met at Chuck E. Cheese who didn't have very good manners. I too folded my hands and bowed my head to pray with them. I look over on the couch. Luke has crawled up beside me and also put his hands together to pray. Heather was just about done with the prayer when Luke belts out, "Amen!" She and I almost busted out laughing.
Today also marked the first day of our Fiesta-themed VBS. Heather and I had a blast teaching crafts. She and I were pretty crazy with our sombrero's on and maracas. We sang and formed a congo line around the classroom. The kids probably thought we were muy loco, but hey we had fun. Today's craft was decorating a little draw string bag to store our daily plastic "bible buddy figurine's" in. Every day we get a new bible buddy to add to the collection.
Luke did so awesome in the nursery for 3 hours during VBS. He and Shep are inseparable. It's so sweet to watch the two of them play together. JJ (Heather's mom) worked the nursery that Shep and Luke were in. She said they are such good playmates. Sheppie cracks me up though, when that boy gets tired he can lay down with his "gankie" (blankie) and sleep anywhere as evidenced by the fact that after VBS was over and we went to pick up the boys....Sheppie was asleep UNDER the table...all wrapped up with his gankie. It was just precious.
Well...that's about all the news for tonight. Sis, sorry I forgot to call you back today.
Love ya'll,
Heather

Busy reading....
Well....well...well...I've just been too busy to blog. It seems that every free chance I get I read my Sesame Street "count" book ah...ah...ah...ah.....
Not too much new to report. This week is VBS at our church so that should be exciting. Mommy is helping with crafts. I get my very own special vacation bible school for 2 yr. olds. I'm hoping I get to make some arts and crafty stuff to add to the refrigerator.
Hope everyone is doing well. Did you know it's almost my birthday. (hint, hint) July 22 is the day I discovered America and.....a lot of people that really love me a lot.
Later taters.

Say Cheese.....
Nothing new...just thought I'd post a cute picture that Daddy took of Lukey tonight. He was playing around on the blow up bed which has been sitting in our living room since the playoff game the other night when Auntie & Uncle were over. It's such a comfortable place to watch t.v. from.
Check out Luke's new little hawaiian shirt....
Also...today Lukey rec'd a cool little care package from Aunt Brooke. It was pretend food for Lukey's play kitchen. So in addition to his other menu items he add's KFC chicken and Dairy Queen icecream cone's. So cute. He especially liked his new Elmo coloring book. He thought that was just fabulous. Thanks Aunt Brooke. Can't wait to see you and Uncle Michael in a few weeks.
Night night!!!

New blonde do.....cuddly time....
Well....I finally got my hair highlighted. It was SO OVERDUE! It's blonde....and they do have more fun (wink). Check out the pic from the other night when Lukey was so tired during the Mav's game that he crawled up into Auntie and Uncles lap and crawled under their blanket. Not too much going on...Mav's trailing by one point at halftime. GO MAV'S!!!! P.S. Tammy please email me your home, work and cell #. I've misplaced them.

Happy Father's Day
Today is Jason's 2nd father's day. Here's how it started. Daddy went to get some donuts for us. We got ready for church. Took Luke to mom's and headed to Northwest Bible to see Robert McElya dedicated today. After service, headed home instead of to the McElya's for lunch because Luke was having a meltdown. Had a lovely lunch sponsered by Sonic (Jason's request). Put Luke to bed. Mom and I ran to the store to buy dinner fare. Taco salad was the menu special in the Rice kitchen tonight. Jason mowed the lawn this afternoon and weed eated. Mom and I cooked dinner. Poppa, Nana, Beau, Jeff and Amber came for dinner and the Mav's game we lost by one point in overtime. It was pathetic. It's now late and I'm about to head to bed. I'm hoping Luke will be in a better mood tomorrow. He was incredibly jealous of Beau tonight and did not want to share neither GranDee nor Nana. It's was so crazy. I think it was a good father's day. Jason got some new shirts, a card and a new fish. Swishy the fishy. Luke and I named him. If it was up Luke solely to name him it would have been either Cheese or Apple Juice because those are the only two words he say's this day. Terrible two's seem to be upon us. He rarely listen's on the first reprimand and he continuously does stuff he's NOT suppose to with no remorse. Guess it's time to start the spankin's up again. Well....later taters. I'm thankful for my daddy and also for my son's daddy. Love ya'll.

Ok...ok...blog nazi's.....You know who you are!
Ok, ok can a girl get a break. If you were barfing your brains out for 2 days you wouldn't feel up to blogging either. Hence, my delay in blogging. Seems that from approx 4:30pm on Wed-Thurs 6:30pm I caught some type of bug. Maybe it was the one Luke had last week. Tammy it was almost as bad as the peanut butter except I had a bucket....Nice graphic I know....
So, here's what's been happening. Today we went and got our Expedition tires rotated, oil changed and new battery installed. Nice man bought Luke chocolate milk and donut holes at the dealership because he could tell he was having a meltdown because mommy forgot the diaper bag AND SIPPY CUP at home with the "Boppum Jews" (apple juice) in it. Then we went to do a little father's day shopping. Let's just say Jason is going to be very surprised by this little father's day gift. Tonight we celebrated Poppa's 58th birthday with a little family dinner at Auntie and Uncle's house. It was a quaint little occasion that finished out with Auntie giving me a full pedicure. So nice, if she ever get's tired of cleaning teeth she could be a pedicurologist.....(is there such a thing.) Just so everyone knows I am feeling much better today, although imodium AD has been my friend today. Good to see S.C. today. Get that house finished so you can move in next to my fav little felon (just kidding).
I hope everyone has a great weekend. If you don't have a father here on earth to celebrate with thank God for the one you did have. I'm proud to be my daddy's daughter. He would be so proud of me if he was here. I know for sure that he'd have loved having a grandson and Luke could have learned a lot from him. I miss you Daddy, but know that you are in Jesus' loving arms. Happy Father's Day. I pray for my dear friend Heather and her mom Jerri. This is their first Father's Day without Charles. Dad, keep ole' Chuckie busy up there on Sun. We love you guys and miss you greatly.
To my father in law Gary, I wish you the very best father's day too. You are a great Grand Father to Lukey. He loves you very much. Which is probably why he says, "Poppa" one hundred million times a day. If I had a dollar..... And to Uncle Jeff I hope that you have a great father's day too. Please keep those heels filed down though (wink). I almost mistook you for a John Deere-a-saurus.....
To my wonderful husband Jason, father to Luke. You are the best father a person could ask for. I've seen you grow so much as a daddy over the last 2 years. It's so precious to watch you two interact. I couldn't think of a better person to be Lukey's daddy. He loves you so much, as do I. Happy Father's Day baby.
To my sweet brother in law Michael. This counts as your official first father's day in my book. If my sister is pregnant, that makes her a mom which pretty much makes you a shoe in as a father. I know that you are going to have great times fishing and playing drums with baby Stone when HE get's here.
To my sweet mom, who many times had to be both mother AND FATHER. Thank you for your sacrificial heart and sweet spirit that blessed me so many times throughout my life. You are such a great parent. You taught me right from wrong and right from left. I cherish having you in my life. I love you.
I love my entire family....Thank you Jesus for blessing me so.

Favorite little flower waterer....
My favorite little flower waterer helped me out this afternoon. I planted some flowers in my little pots over the weekend so they have to be watered daily given the hot weather that hits our front porch. Lukey likes to help and he does a great job! He was so cute out there saying, "Wog". That's how he say's water.

Early Father's Day gift...organ-playing...
Ok, I got creative and made a homemade Father's Day gift. (It's just one of many gifts to come-NOT all homemade either!)
Since those of you who know me best know I can never keep gifts a secret until the actual day of the holiday/birthday/anniversary to give it to the person I had Luke do my dirty work this year. I went into the bedroom and got this little picture collage house I made with paper and crayons today and told Luke to go give it to daddy. He did and I peeked around the corner to watch daddies reaction. It was so cute. Luke walked up to Jason and handed it to him and walked off. Jason looked at it and said with a concerned tone, "Lukey-were you suppose to give this to me already?" Then I peeked and out and told him I was just too excited to wait until Father's Day. I told him he has other things coming ON Father's Day that aren't homemade but that I thought this would look cute on his desk.
I think the the best gifts are one's money can't buy! If any of ya'll would like to steal my idea be my guest. It turned out really cute. The bottom is folded under so that you can sit it on a desk. Daddy loved it!!!
Tonight was Granna's 84th birthday. We got together as a family at her house and ate a great spread of chicken and all the fixin's. We had a great time hanging out and watching Beau and Luke play her big organ.
Happy Birthday Granna, we love you! Also, big news today my sis got to see baby Stone's hand in a sonogram. How awesome. I remember the first time we saw Luke's hand & foot. I still have the pic's. Such a miracle. I'm so excited for ya'll sis. You'll love being a mom. It's the greatest job in the whole world and you two will be great parents.

Mav's fans....Mom's....Sleepy Mav's Fan's...
Hello Mav's fans...here are pic's from our first Mav's watching extravaganza. Notice that our piggy tails brought the Mav's good luck. They won. Go Mav's for game 2.
Notice sleepy Staci and Amber. Those two party poopers, asleep before 10:30pm. For those of you who've asked Luke is 100% better, yeah God. Thanks for calling Tammy--I cannot find your phone number to return the call.
We had our neighbors Karl, Kami, John & Matthew over to watch game 1 along with Jeff, Amber, Beau and Dylan and Staci our buddies from lifegroup.
Take a look at my mommy. I restyled her hair today. To a more spikey hairdo. You like???? She's so pretty. I sure love my mommy. Thank you God for such a special mom. That's it for now folks. Go Mavs!!!

Puke Patrol...Sprinklers...Grass...Old Friends
Ok...here's the run down. Last night from 11:30pm-5am we were on "Puke Patrol". Changed Luke's bed sheets 4 times, washed 2 mattress pads, Kalepo, Doggie, Elmo, Blankie, Big Bird and Little Doggie. Gave Luke one bath and changed his clothes 3 times, brushed his teeth once. Needless to say...not fun. Thank you "Aunt Tammy" for helping me when the "fun" began last night. You know you have a true friend when she lifts your vomit plastered kid out of the crib because you're about to lose your cookies. Poor Tammy she had to deal with puke twice yest. because her doggies puked all over her bed while she was at work yest. Please no more puke. Luke's still sleeping and it's 12 noon.
Got to see Lilly and Marissa yest. as they dropped by for a quick visit as they are in town from NC. Great to see them. Marissa is growing like a weed and is cute as ever. She didn't want to leave when it came time to go because she was having so much fun watching the Wiggles with Luke.
Went to bible study at church yest. morning. Very interesting study on faith, prayer & healing. Challenged me in the way I pray. One girl Michelle made such a cool point that I'd never thought about until then. She said, "When you pray do you pray out loud or silently in your head?" We all said sometimes silent, sometimes verbal.... She said, you know the Devil puts bad thoughts INTO our head's HOWEVER... he can't HEAR our thoughts. Only God can HEAR our thoughts. So, she contended that when you are praying "getting behind me Satan" to ward off negative thoughts he puts in your head it's necessary to say your "GET BEHIND ME SATAN" prayer OUTLOUD because that is the only way Satan can hear it since he can't hear the thoughts that go on in your head he can only put negative thoughts in. Make sense...... I thought that was very profound.
We finally got our sprinklers and grass installed this week. It's only been what 3 months. Crazy! Off to being yard of the month. (fingers crossed)
It's hotter than Hades here and it's not even July yet. I sure would hate to be pregnant right now....Ugh....Sorry Sis.
By the way, we're going to get to see Aunt Brooke and Uncle Michael in about 6-7 wks when they come for Luke's birthday. It'll be so great to see them. Maybe Jason can talk to Joe and see if they can take Uncle Michael fishing when he's here.
Well....off to feed the boy more Pedialyte. He's keeping that down now, Praise God!

Back to his old tricks...
Well...Lukey is back to his old tricks. I do believe he's entering the dreaded "terrible 2's". He's much more possessive of his toys, he has little mini-tantrums when he doesn't get his way and he doesn't listen as well as he once did. He gets a couple spankin's a day now because of disobeying mommy or daddy. We're keeping him on track though.....Take a look at some cute pic's from yesterday when cuzzin Beau came over to play.
They always have so much fun together. They watched Elmo and played in the "Rice Kitchen". Quite the chefs they are.....That's about it for now. It's hotter than Hades here so we spend our days inside or outside at the pool in our neighborhood or at Lifetime Fitness.

Not his old self...
Luke hasn't quite been himself this weekend. He's really cranky, whiny, sleepy & cuddly. As you can see he tried to wake up daddy and Grandee. He was a little cuddle bug. He's not throwing up, has had a slight fever and acts like maybe his teeth hurt because I try to oral-gel and he screams and bites down on my finger. Please pray Winky gets to feeling better soon. He slept until 11:30am this morning from 8:30pm last night.
