Today, all of my contacts/ph#'s got deleted off my cell phone. I got a new Blackberry cell phone last night that I was trying to transfer this info. to. Well...much to my dismay it's ALL GONE~

Jesus in my heart....
Ok, I just thought this was so precious. Yesterday, Luke layed down to take a nap with me. Of course he had to bring along a barrage of articles: McQueen car, Spiderman blanket, McQueen pillow, teddy bear.
The teddy bear was made this year at Vacation Bible School. It's about 8 inches tall, and green fleece. Printed on the fleece is the word "Jesus" and there are heart's printed on there too. I asked him what that was on teddy bear (and pointed to the hearts). He promptly said, "Those are hearts". I said, "Good job, those are hearts, you're so smart". I said, "Did you know that other word is Jesus". He said, "Jesus". I told him that Jesus lives in our hearts, in the inside and I touched his chest where his heart is. I said, "Do you know that Jesus lives in our hearts". He said, "Yes". Then he grabbed his shirt at the neck/collar, pulled it out from his chest and looked down into his shirt. Then THIS was his response.........(it almost made me cry)
"I know mommy, look I can see HIM".
Then I told him to park his McQueen car at the Cozy Cone Motel (for those of you who haven't seen the movie-that's the Motel) because McQueen needed a nap. He turned over layed McQueen down and said, "Mommy, I parked McQueen and Cone". I laughed.
Also, I figured out something new about using the right words or presenting something in a different format to elicit a positive response. He didn't want to eat my peanut butter, granola, banana, strawberry jelly wraps that I made for him last night. The minute he took a bite he said, "I don't want it". So, an idea popped in my head. Scrap off the stuff and put it on bread, tell him it's a PBJ and see what happens. Voila' he eats it like no tomorrow. Then, the other day I was trying to get him to eat a blueberry muffin I'd made for breakfast. I set hit down in front of him and immediately its: "I don't want it". So, last night I made a new batch of muffins in "Diego" (who he calls EGGO) paper cupcake holders. This morning I said, "You want an EGGO CUPCAKE". He said, "Yeah mommy EGGO cupcakes yummy". He even had a second one. Who knew just change things up a bit and they'll be a hit. Guess there's lot of parenting things still on my list to learn...
He's literally picking up new words and sentences daily. Today he told me Dragon's aren't real and that we can't eat them.
Oh my gosh, I almost totally forgot to tell ya'll the most excellent thing I discovered today. Yesterday, Luke colored green crayon all over my scotchguarded upholstery window seats around the kitchen table, wall (and the pillow). I was thinking great....how in the world am I going to get this off. Check this out....baby wipes got it completely out today. I wish I had taken before/after pictures. So, if you're ever in a dilemma try out the baby wipes first before buying expensive spot treatments. I can't take credit for thinking up this remedy, but rather a Yahoo group I belong to who sent me the suggestions.
That's it for now....

Boxer Briefs...Pillow Mtn...Mouse Timeout...
Today we wore our cute little boxer briefs big boy pants. He's doing great with potty training. Still having "issues" with going #2 (Amber he get's enough fiber--see my response to your blog from the other day)
Today, we also built (well, Luke built) Pillow mountain on the couch. He had fun playing and "hiding'.
Also, he put Mickey and Minnie in timeout (a reprieve from him swinging them around by their tails all morning) I'm sure they were glad. He told them to sit there and not get up. I wonder where he get's that? Hmmm..... That's the fun so far today and it's only 10:30am. What does the rest of the day hold. Thank goodness I'm not driving around in the school zones today.

Funny....and Tragedy
Let me start with something on the light-hearted side. Tonight, Jason, Luke and I were folding clothes. Mostly Luke's folding consisted of flapping the clothes in the air (like you would a towel to get it straight before folding). Either way he was SO proud of his folding abilities and we praised him as always. As we were "folding" we would say, who's shirt is this and Luke would say, "Daddy's". We'd say, "Good job, that's right it is Daddy's shirt!". Well...he got to a pair of mommy's panties. He "folded" them and we said what are these and who's are these? To which he replied, "Those are Mommies big BOY pants!" I couldn't help but laugh....
Now on a very serious note. My sister emailed me yesterday with a very tragic story. The reason I'm relaying it to you, is because I think this family could use as many prayers as can be lifted up for them.
There was a girl that Brooke went to highschool with. Her name was Jordan. She was one of the "popular" crowd, always dressed in the trendiest clothes and hanging with the "right" friends whatever that means. Hey, it was highschool! She was found dead on Thurs. from an apparent drug overdose. A lethal combination of 24 Vicodin, Ambien sleeping pills and an antibiotic.
Evidently, in the years since highschool she struggled with deep depression and had problems with sticking to her prescribed dose of prescription medications. She had a very young daughter, London (4 years old) who is to start kindergarten tomorrow. London went to wake mommy up on Thurs. morning and could not wake her. She ran next door to the neighbors, who dialed 911. The EMT/Ambulance showed up, but Jordan was already dead. An autopsy is being performed.
Ironically, just last week another friend of Brooke's, Aimee (who is a Dallas Firefighter) came upon a car accident where a car had jumped the curb and hit a street sign. Aimee of course, being a firefighter rendered aid only to find out it was their friend from highschool, Jordan.
Apparently, there had been 3 calls to 911 that people thought she was a drunk driver. Aimee asked her if she'd taken anything before driving and she said no, but didn't even know where she was and could give no phone numbers for Aimee to call for someone to come pick her up. The cops showed up and hauled Jordan to jail because she failed a sobriety test. You can imagine Aimee's surprise while reading the obit's this week when she see's Jordan's name.
After attending the funeral Aimee stopped by Jordan's house to drop off a card. Jordan's husband Rich invited Aimee in the house. They exchanged stories of Jordan's depression, etc....Evidently, the night Aimee responded to the car accident Jordan has taken an Ambien (sleeping pill) and it had kicked in before she got home.
Long story short London said to Aimee, "Actually my mom died". Pulled a flower out of an arrangement from the funeral and gave it to Aimee. So sad. London starts kindergarten tomorrow as does every Texas elementary school child. Jordan was never able to see her little girl off to her first day of school. Rich is now left without a wife and a young daughter to raise on is own. London is left with no mommy.
This story just touched my heart and made me so sad. You never know the personal demons one faces on a daily basis, EVEN if everything looks perfect on the outside. Please pray for this family, as I'm sure it is going to be a long journey for them. My prayer is that Jordan knew the Lord and is finally resting in peace. I'll leave you with that.

Tons of pictures on their way...
Ok, I admit it even with the Canon Rebel for Dummies book I bought I STILL do not know how to retrieve the pictures from my new camera.
So... with that being said, please know that more awesome pic's will be posted to blogger soon. My new birthday present, a pink Dell Laptop is on backorder until Sept.-ish. When it arrives it will have all the bells and whistles that will accommodate my picture downloading needs. For now you will still have to see pic's from my 6 year old 3 megapixel Canon Cybershot. Sorry, guys!
Next....Kudos for my sweet hubby:
I wanted to tell everyone how proud I am of Jason. He got a promotion at work today. Yeah! Yippee! He will be given a supervisor title in 2 wks. and have 7 people reporting to him. He has done a great job at work and this will be a fabulous opportunity to advance his mgmt. career. After all, that is what his degree is, Business Mgmt. Honey, I know how hard you've worked and I'm SO proud of you. You deserve it! You are an excellent provider for our family.
Also today I got my hair highlighted again. Finally after almost a year of being a brunette (which I hate, by the way) Sorry God and Mom. It finally looks like it's back in shape after all the crazy post-weight loss hair loss. I went to a new hair girl today and I loved her. She did a fabulous job on the cut and color. Samantha, I'm coming back to ya. You've got a new client. Thank you Jenny for the birthday gift certificate that made my new "do" possible.
Sorry there are no pictures tonight, I was too busy napping to get any good shots of the Lukey-meister. Maybe tomorrow. I just love that boy, he's so hilarious these days. Today he told me that he had "pun" (fun) playing at his buddy Matthew's house. Thanks Cami for watching him while I pampered myself at the salon. I'll get back to you re: next week.
If you haven't already checked out Brian and Trina's blog, DO IT! Pearson got to come home today, finally where he belongs with his sweet mommy and daddy. It's been a long journey and he's such a miracle, as per his cute onesie! Now the fun begins. No nurses to hand him off to when you need to sleep a little. Oh, the sleepless nights. I remember them like they were yesterday. I couldn't be happier for my friends to get to experience the joys of parenthood--FINALLY!
Tonight we went to Poppa and Nana's house for a lovely bday dinner. Luke still think's it is HIS "dirthday". In fact, as we said our night night prayers tonight Jason said, "Dear Jesus, thank you for my family and for mommies birthday this week". Luke chimed in immediately, "it's my DIRTHDAY". We said, "ok, thank you Jesus for Luke's dirthday". Too cute. He's so precious. You should have seen him and Beau playing tonight. I do have pic's but like I said previously, they're on their way when the new computer get's here. Be patient!
Thank you to everyone for the lovely bday gifts. I can't wait to use all my gift certificates at Nordstrom's. After all, everyone knows that is my favorite store in the whole wide world. If I had a zillion bucks (which I might if I win my lawsuit against Baylor and my surgeon) I would spend it all there.
It's time to turn in for the night. Mommies tired and her side is hurting. I cannot wait to get this darn drainage tube taken out next Friday. Gosh, do I really have another week to go with it in. I swear I look and feel like a science experiment. It's getting hard to conceal my drainage bag under clothes. I feel like Antwone from the old In Living Color days. Remember how he used to carry that pickle jar around his neck. Ugh!
Later taters...off to get some shut eye!

Happy Birthday to ME....
Here's my favorite picture of my boy and I (taken tonight).
Daddy took it right before we went to "dirthday" dinner as Luke called it.
He was convinced it was HIS "dirthday". He even had to blow out the dirthday candle on my complimentary dessert at Mama Emilia's (we decided to go there instead of Spaghetti Warehouse).
Poor Luke, he was all set to eat at "Dirthday Warehouse" as he called it.
Another funny from today is that after his bath I brushed his hair. I said, "Oh, Luke you're so handsome!" He looked up at me and said, "I Pant-Some Mommy". I just laughed.
Also, it is someone VERY special's birthday today. Brian and Trina welcomed son, James Pearson (J.P.) this morning in Colorado Springs. Check out their blog for pic's of the cute little bugger. Congrats to you guys on your special little miracle.
That's about it. I'm thankful that God has allowed me 35 great years on this earth. I have been blessed with a great family and so many friends. If I wasn't on pain med's. I'd raise a glass of vino to another 35+ years. But since drinking and drugs don't mix I'll just have to take a raincheck.
